Our Rangehood Cleaning Services includes covering the whole area with drop sheets before we start. Then using a high pressure sprayer to force degreaser up into all corners and crevices we clean/scrape and degrease the canopy inside (up behind filters) and out, filter frames, flue, empty all gutters and apply a non-stick coating to all stainless steel surfaces. Check rangehood canopy for loose or broken fittings, replace missing rivets, check oil drain plug in gutter for leaks, replace silicon washer if needed, replace silicon in joints if needed.
Ducting, exhaust fan, motor and cowling are degreased, cleaned and scraped , check motor mounts, check all fasteners, making sure all are tight, replacing any loose or missing rivets. Clean roof area. We also seal with silicon to make sure there are no air leaks in the ducting so as the fan is drawing air from the kitchen only. Often when we do a job for the first time, we find that the whole cowling leaks both air and rain water.
This is a general service that ensures the range hood works at its full potential removing food cooking smoke and keeping the kitchen walls and ceiling areas cleaner, also making for a cleaner work environment for staff. Kitchen exhaust cleaning is essential for the prevention of kitchen grease fires. Grease build-up in range hoods and exhaust systems can lead to a severe flash fire hazard. Millions of dollars are lost every year in restaurant fires originating in the cooking area, which then explodes into the exhaust system and onto the roof where the fire can quickly spread - grease fires turn very hot very quickly so spread very rapidly.
Cleaning and maintenance is a must for all industrial and commercial kitchens. We recommend a maintenance service every 3/4 months if your kitchen is open twelve hours or more a day and 6 months if open up to eight hours a day and 12 monthly depending on the type of and amount of cooking to keep your kitchen exhaust clean and grease free to protect your establishment from grease flash fire hazards.
